Pre-schematic Design (PSD) Phase

In November 2003, the Ministry of Culture has assigned the implementation of the pre-schematic design for the GEM project to Heneghan Peng Architects/ Ove Arup/ Buro Happold JV - the 1st- Prize winner in the GEM international architectural competition (concluded in June 2003) -

The pre-schematic design for GEM entails fixing the design concepts on the architectural level, technical level (Civil, MEP…etc.), functional level (museuology, artifact Exhibition, circulation…etc.), operational planning level (maintenance, signage…etc.), and the project-finance level (cost estimate, cash flow, risk register…etc.). PSD phase was successfully concluded in June 2004.
