Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Given the importance of the natural and cultural-heritage aspects in the project of the Grand Egyptian Museum, an assessment of the environmental and social impacts of the project is crucial. The aim of the EIA is to identify the impacts of the different proposed design elements of the museum project, and to propose measures to enhance its environmental and social performance.

Therefore, the Ministry of Culture has announced the EIA bid to qualified environment consultants in March 2005. In April 2005, EcoConServ (Environmental Solutions) was awarded the contract to implement the EIA for the project of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
