Conservation Center
The GEM's Conservation Center is considered to be the heart of the whole.
Built on an approximate area of 7,000 m 2 the GEM Conservation Center is expected to be the largest Conservation Center in the Middle East . Equipped with its own Energy Center and Service Facilities, the Conservation Center building is considered as a major part of the Egyptian Cultural evolution and Heritage.
Put out to rescue and restore hundreds if not thousands of Ancient Egyptian Artifacts yearly; is this buildings supreme cause.
The Conservation Center is expected to be a major allay for the Egyptian Economy. With the capacity of self financing through supplying industrial and restoration services to both the Industrial and Archeological World wide Community, the Conservation Center is an Egyptian Economic Asset as well as a World Cultural Back bone. It is a main contributor to the whole World's Heritage and that of the Mankind.
The Conservation Center consists of five main conservation laboratories, which are the Stone Lab., The Wood Lab., The Organic Lab. (Textiles, Leather and Papyrus), The Inorganic Lab. (Ceramics, Glass and Metals) and The Human Remains Lab. There are also several Specialized Labs that are mainly used for analytical purposes and hence can be used by the Industrial force as well as Archeologists and Conservators. These Labs are The Scanning Electron Microscope, The Microscopes Lab, The Chemical Analysis Lab, The X-Ray Room, and A Photographic Studio.
With the help of both Technical and Scientific consultants in almost all its fields including its operational systems, security and conservation strategies, it is safe to say that the GEM Conservation Center will be Top of the Line technically and equipment wise.
Built under the ground for maximum Climatic Control and with studied gas and hazardous waste situations, it is also considered one of the few Egyptian projects that respect the Environment.
The Conservation Center is expected to majorly participate in the world's cultural evolution from its opening date.
